Dense piping, flanges, and valves in an industrial plant.

What data this website collects, what it is used for, and what rights you have regarding it.

The essentials first

You can read this website without telling us your name. Without your consent, we only count page views anonymously and without cookies; a more detailed usage analysis runs only if you consent in the notice banner (Section 4). We do not integrate advertising networks. We receive your name and contact details only if you send us the inquiry form or write to us.

We do not sell data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes. Where we use technical service providers, they are named further below.

1. Who is responsible for this website

ETS Energie-Technik-Systeme AG
Wiesenstrasse 14
CH-9327 Tübach
Switzerland

Email: [email protected]

Processing is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG). If you write to us from the European Economic Area, we additionally handle your request according to the principles of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What happens when you simply visit the site

The website is delivered via the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (represented in Europe by Cloudflare Germany GmbH). As with any website, this automatically generates technical logs: your IP address, the date and time of access, the address accessed, your browser and device identifiers, and the page you came from. These logs are used to operate the website and to defend against attacks. They are generated at our service provider; we do not analyze them on a per-person basis, and we do not combine them with other data.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and proper operation of the website.

In addition, Cloudflare uses its Web Analytics service to count how often each page is accessed. No cookies are set for this, nothing is stored in your browser, and no profile of you is created. We only see totals – for example, how many views a page had on a given day, not who viewed it.

On the contact page, you can display a map from Google Maps (Google LLC, USA, represented in Europe by Google Ireland Limited). It only loads once you click “Load map”. From that click onward, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies; we have no influence over this. Without the click, nothing is sent to Google. The legal basis is your consent given by the click.

The fonts on this website are hosted on our own server. Viewing the page therefore does not establish a connection to Google Fonts or a similar service.

3. Cookies and local storage

We do not set any cookies that recognize you when you simply read these pages. When you make a choice in the notice banner, your browser remembers that choice for 180 days in what is known as local storage – a storage area in the browser that only this website can read. It holds your choice, its date, and a version number, but no name and no identifier.

You can change your choice at any time:

In addition, Cloudflare may set short-lived technical cookies to protect against automated access. They serve security purposes only, not the observation of your behavior. Anyone who logs into the customer portal receives a technically necessary session cookie for the duration of the login.

4. Usage analysis

Beyond the anonymous counting described in Section 2, your visit is only analyzed if you explicitly consent in the notice banner. If you decline or make no choice, no script is loaded for this purpose.

If analysis is enabled and you have consented, we use PostHog (PostHog, Inc.) via its European cloud for this. Page views and specific approved events, such as downloading a document, are recorded. So that repeat visits from the same browser are counted together, PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser’s local storage after your consent. It contains no name. Session recordings, automatic tracking of every click, and linking with form data are disabled. If you withdraw your consent, nothing more is recorded; you remove the identifier itself by clearing your browser’s storage for this website.

The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the button above, and the website will continue to work just as well.

5. Inquiry form and email

When you send us the inquiry form, you provide us with your name, your company, your email address, and your message, optionally also your phone number, salutation, department, and postal address, as well as the technical details you filled in. We need this information to process your inquiry and to ask follow-up questions.

Before submitting, you confirm this statement by checking a box. We record with your inquiry that you did so and when.

To prevent the form from being misused by automated programs, a check with Cloudflare Turnstile runs as soon as you open the contact page. This transmits technical details of your browser and your IP address to Cloudflare. As a rule, you do not need to solve a puzzle.

Your inquiry is stored in a database at Cloudflare and receives a reference number. We send our internal notification and your confirmation of receipt via the email service Resend (Resend, Inc.). An automatic confirmation of receipt is not a technical assessment of your inquiry; no automated decision is made about your request.

The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request, as well as our legitimate interest in processing inquiries in a traceable manner.

6. Job applications

The form on the “Careers” page sends nothing to us. It compiles your entries and opens your own email program with them – the application is sent only by you, to [email protected]. You attach your documents to this message yourself; they never pass through this website.

Your application is processed in our email inbox and made accessible only to the people involved in the selection process. If it does not result in employment, we delete the documents six months after the process is concluded. If you would like us to keep your application longer for future positions, please let us know – we will then retain it for twelve months and delete it afterward.

The legal basis is the initiation of an employment relationship on your own initiative.

7. Who else sees the data

We do not pass on your data, except to the following service providers, who work for us and are contractually bound by our instructions:

  • Cloudflare, Inc., USA, with Cloudflare Germany GmbH – website delivery, anonymous counting of page views, protection against automated access, storage of inquiries.
  • Resend, Inc., USA – sending notifications and confirmations of receipt.
  • PostHog, Inc., with a European cloud – usage analysis, only with your consent.

If you click “Load map” on the contact page, Google also receives your IP address (see Section 2). Google does not act on our behalf in this case, but under its own responsibility.

This means data may also reach the USA. The transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission, which are recognized by Switzerland, supplemented by the Swiss addendum.

8. How long we retain information

  • Inquiries submitted through the form and the associated correspondence: generally 24 months after the last contact. If the inquiry leads to an order, the statutory ten-year retention period for business records applies.
  • Job applications: generally six months after the process is concluded, or twelve months at your request.
  • Your consent or refusal in the notice banner: 180 days, and only in your own browser.
  • The usage analysis identifier, if you have consented: in your browser, until you clear the storage for this website.
  • Technical operating logs: according to our service provider’s retention periods, generally a few days to weeks.

9. Your rights

You can find out at any time and free of charge which data we process about you, where it comes from, and what we use it for. You can have incorrect data corrected, request deletion, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can also request that we provide you with the data you have given us in a common format.

To do so, write to [email protected] or to the address given above. So that we never disclose one person’s data to someone else, we ask, if in doubt, whether you really are the person whose data is concerned.

If you disagree with our response, you can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern). If you live in the European Economic Area, the supervisory authority in your place of residence is also available to you.

10. Changes to this statement

We update this statement whenever the website or the services we use change. The version published here is authoritative.
