Energy technology for industry and commerce

Energy technology is a field of science that focuses on generating energy in an environmentally friendly and economical way, and on converting and transporting it.

Energie-Technik-Systeme AG develops compelling, customized solutions that industry and commerce use to cool and heat specific substances.

Energy technology is of essential importance today for society, politics and the economy. People depend on energy. However, resources are so scarce that various countries come into conflict, or even wage wars, over oil or other energy sources. The goal of innovative energy technology is, on the one hand, to make the best possible use of resources and, on the other hand, to keep the negative consequences for the environment as low as possible. After all, if resources are exploited carelessly, local disruptions to ecosystems are the result.

The topics of energy technology therefore mostly deal with technologies that enable environmentally friendly and, at the same time, ecological generation, conversion and storage of energy.

Energie-Technik-Systeme AG specialized many years ago in energy recovery for industry and commerce. We develop innovative solutions for your company that enable sustainable business practices. As a specialist in waste heat utilization and energy recovery, our task is to develop solutions for industrial operations that enable the cooling and heating of liquids and gases.

Waste heat utilization is ecological and economical

Energy is a precious resource. More and more people need more and more of it. Companies therefore act in an ecologically responsible way when they do not simply accept unavoidable heat generation, but see it as an opportunity. Modern companies rely on waste heat utilization and cover their further heat demand within their own operation using process heat. This way, internal costs fall, since purchasing energy from outside is eliminated or can at least be significantly reduced.

Waste heat can be used for general space heating or to support existing heating systems. Waste heat utilization also makes it possible to heat service water or even, with the help of additional equipment, to use the thermal energy for power generation. Many companies use waste heat to obtain new process heat for other production steps. This creates an almost perfect energy cycle.

Given the appropriate operating size and network connections, waste heat can also be used to generate district heating, which is then sold. Waste incineration plants use their waste heat to provide hot water for single-family homes. In both cases, you act economically, and waste heat utilization creates a win-win situation.

For waste heat utilization, ETS Energie-Technik-Systeme AG offers you a special heat exchanger that makes flue gases usable. This flue gas heat exchanger, however, can be used not only for waste heat utilization but also for recooling. This keeps you flexible in your work processes. These heat exchangers are mainly used in waste incineration plants. In other operations, it is worth using type GA shell-and-tube heat exchangers, which are likewise ideally suited to waste heat utilization. They are suitable for almost all thermal combustion processes and are available from ETS AG in various designs.

Advantages of energy recovery

Energy recovery promises nothing but advantages.

Energy saved: Through energy recovery, you need less fuel to provide energy elsewhere.

Environmental friendliness: The heat generated is not released unused into the environment, so that an exhaust gas heat system contributes to climate protection. In addition, pollutant emissions are reduced thanks to energy recovery.

Cost savings: Certain equipment such as boilers, cooling towers or chimneys can be made smaller or may no longer be necessary.

Install an exhaust gas heat exchanger for efficient energy recovery

Our systems enable outstanding energy recovery.

In numerous industrial operations, waste heat is generated in the course of individual work processes. If it is not used, on the one hand you forgo valuable energy, and on the other hand the heated air harms the environment.

In most industrial operations, individual work steps are associated with the generation of heat. Elsewhere, however, you may use extra fuel, for example to heat employees’ office spaces or to achieve an optimal temperature in warehouses. It is better, instead, not to release the heat that inevitably arises unused into the environment, but to recover it. Energy recovery is one of the specialist fields of Energie-Technik-Systeme AG. We offer our customers various exhaust gas heat exchangers that make the thermal heat usable for you. An exhaust gas heat exchanger, known in German by the abbreviation AWT, can work with different gases and liquids depending on the model. This makes it possible to achieve effective energy recovery for almost all existing industrial plants. Through energy recovery, the thermal energy can be used not only for space heating. Water heating or conversion into district heating is likewise possible.

In numerous industrial operations, production processes generate waste heat that goes unused despite its high temperatures. To benefit from this thermal energy, Energie-Technik-Systeme AG advises you to use exhaust gas heat exchangers. So-called AWTs are used by more and more companies because they enable efficient energy recovery. Exhaust gas heat exchangers are now so well developed that they can be used in almost all industrial plants – regardless of which gases and fuels you work with. Energie-Technik-Systeme AG offers you only modern exhaust gas heat exchangers that do not negatively affect the efficiency of your machines. Instead, you use the resulting heat, for example to heat office spaces or warm water. Under certain circumstances, it is even possible to convert the waste heat into district heating in order to generate additional revenue.

In personal consultations, some of our customers repeatedly express concerns that an exhaust gas heat exchanger could affect their respective production equipment. In our range, however, you will find exclusively highly developed exhaust gas heat exchangers that do not impair the efficiency of industrial plants in any way. Instead, you benefit in many respects.

Finned heat exchangers and air heaters

Particularly popular are so-called finned heat exchangers, which belong to the air heater family. These units are used wherever indoor climate can be improved. They are often used, for example, in industrial halls or warehouses to create an ideal climate there. Air heaters are also well suited for open-plan offices.

Air heaters consist of core tubes and a fin system that is fitted or pressed onto them. Inside the core tubes are certain liquids or gases that are used for cooling. The fin system, on the other hand, releases heat to the ambient air. Finned heat exchangers can also be used the other way around. At Energie-Technik-Systeme AG you will find a wide variety of units, and we are happy to give you comprehensive advice on them.

Where does waste heat utilization make sense?

With modern, well thought-out equipment, waste heat can be made usable wherever process heat is generated.

In principle, our energy recovery systems can be used so flexibly that they are suitable for the most diverse range of operations. However, there are numerous companies where particularly large amounts of waste heat are generated. A very well-known example of this is waste incineration plants. But the work processes in printing plants, laundries or other factories are also associated with the generation of heat. It is precisely in these sectors that it makes sense to convert the thermal energy into district heating. Energy recovery generates additional revenue for your company.

Waste heat utilization is becoming increasingly important, especially in the waste disposal industry, because the volume of waste produced is continuously rising. Resource-saving disposal and recycling are therefore becoming ever more important for society.

Shell-and-tube heat exchangers of type GA are suitable for almost all thermal combustion processes and are available from ETS AG in various designs.

In the paper or machinery industry, we usually advise our customers to use shell-and-tube heat exchangers of type GA. If, on the other hand, you want to recover heat from contaminated or even aggressive air, gas heat exchangers of type GB are the better choice.
